2012 Trentatre Rossa

A quiet evening at home with a Spanish Red.  Yes, I've uncorked the latest vintage of Trentatre, a wonderful Spanish made blend of Cabernet, Merlot and Montepulciano.  Picked this one up at Trader Joe's yesterday and had a glass last night.  Wow - this wine should retail in the $20 region.  Great value at about $6 US.

The nose is awash in layers of mocha, espresso bean and black currants.  On the palate, plum, more espresso and a bit of oak (smokey vanilla).  The red's body is medium to light and the wine finishes beautifully.  I was thinking about grilled Salmon tonight, but stumbled upon a great Brooklyn Vegan article on pizzafied album covers and it's making me crave some Pizza.  Hmmmm, this wine would go great with a grilled pie.

A review of the Trentatre -----> full bodied with a finish of soft tannins
