Ebay Rock 45's 3/30/12

Each Friday, I search Ebay for some interesting high $$$ 45s that have sold on Ebay recently and on Saturday morning I post the top 5 along with the corresponding videos so you can judge for yourself if the buyer got a good deal.

Kiss     Shout It Out Loud    $479.00

From the Auction:

Amazing M- condition IMPOSSIBLY RARE uniquely picture sleeved Holland release of this 45 from 1974. Apparently this was only pressed in 500 copies! Extremely hard to find and especially in this absolutely jawdropping condition.Have a listen below! Both the sleeve (printed on textured paper) and the 45 are in amazing condition.

Johnny Burnette    Drinking Wine, Spo-Dee-O-Dee, Drinking Wine   $467.00

From the Auction:

A Beaut. Stock copy-Scarcer than the Promo

Hammer Damage     Automatic Lips    $381.66

From the Auction:

Hammer Damage was founded in 1978 by Mike Hammer and Dave Zagar (a.k.a Donny Damage) after their split from the Rubber City Rebels.
The original line-up included George Cabaniss on guitar, Scott Winkler on bass, Damage on guitar and Hammer on drums.
The Hammer Damage Band started out in 1978 and quickly built a strong following in the Akron-Kent music scene. They also enjoyed some modest success in Cleveland. KILLER CUTS!!! One of which "Laugh" was featured on the Killed By Death Series.

Jerry Capehart     Rollin'    $260.38

From the Auction:

Jerry Capehart featuring Cochran Brothers - Rollin ' / Walkin' Stick Boogie
hard to find rockabilly 45 on Cash records featuring the legendary Cochran brothers!

The Skinnies    I'm A Dullard     $249.56

From the Auction:

Two short, sharp blasts of retardo punk. Accompanied with The Normals 7″ Lectric Eye released two killer records and what else do a record label need in their catalog? The buzzzzing voice in the intro of “Out Of Order”, the sound of what sounds like a broken crash cymbal and the dubbed vocals makes this perfect. A-side of "I'm A Dullard" is an classic cut if not an anthem for most?!
THIS IS AN ORGINAL LECTRIC EYE PRESSING NOT A REISSUE!!!

Sierra Nevada Torpedo Extra IPA redux

It's back to a Sierra Nevada Torpedo Extra IPA on this rainy Sunday.  This time, I bought a 4 pack of the 16 ounce cans.  Yes, I said cans - a bit of a retro feel to these - strange to see a micro brew in a can - but there is a trend going on concerning the humble aluminum can.  The taste is just as good as in the bottle - big, bold hops and a spectacular finish - highly recommended.

Here's Sierra Nevada's page devoted to the brew - Torpdeo

Tonight, I'm drinking to some hard work done last weekend.  The latest addition to the Gameroom annex of the Pinhead Studios is complete- Palooka.  It's a 1964 Williams add-a-ball Pinball.

Here's some info on the Internet Pinball Database - Palooka

2008 Lamole Di Lamole Chianti Classico

It's Italian night at the Pinhead Abode.  Got some red sauce bubbling behind me and the Meatballs are ready. Cracked open a Chianti to go with the meal.  This one I picked up over at my local Trader Joes for just under $10.  Now Chianti is usually characterized by mild acidity with a nice finish and the fruit expressing itself there at the end.  I might have to try another bottle of this example, as the Lamole is only giving me the Green Pepper and Stalk finish that I do not like.  Maybe it will open up after a few hours - if not - it will be going in the sauce.

Listening to the new Tommy Stinson 7" that I received in the mail this past Thursday.  I got 2 copies, one for me and one for a friend's Jukebox.  Both personally signed by Tommy.  Love those pre-order perks.  The B-side is not on his new album, but should have made it on there.  It would have been great right between Seize The moment and Zero to Stupid.  I hope that Tommy releases another 7" from the album, but hey, I would like to see him release the whole album on 7"

Cheers

The Lewd     Kill Yourself     $225.20

From the Auction:

The legendary first single from Seattle's The Lewd, recorded
before they moved to San Francisco. Showcases the thick sound
common to several early Seattle punk bands such as The Refuzors.
Features Kurdt Vanderhoof -- Blobbo - who went on to form
Metal Church. A touchstone record for the Seattle punk scene.
Cover sheet is in excellent condition apart from a couple small
spots on Jon's face and a couple wrinkles, as well as a ring
impression. Vinyl is in excellent condition with a couple small
scratches on Side A, very small, and I can't feel them with my
finger. Labels are excellent. Label contains the manufacturing
number SCRATCH-ME-101 copyright 1978. Overall, very fine
record. No paper inner sleeve. It probably came that way. This is
the original record, not the Rockin' Bones 2003 reissue.

Rogue Dirtoir Black Lager

Cracked open a Rogue Brewery Dirtoir Black Lager this afternoon to go with some "research".  My local news stand started to carry that great UK magazine called the Record Collector again and I picked up the latest issue with a cover story on the Clash's Give 'em Enough Rope.  Also picked up a great used book called Long May You Run - the Illustrated History.  It has a great Neil Young 45 discography in one of the indices - I need to fill some gaps in my collection......

Here's the website for the Brew -------> Rogue Ales

Great chocolate milk head and damn fine smooth finish - wow - this one is nice.  I bought 3 over at my local Beer Shoppe and I'm glad I did.  Nice ceramic label on the bottle (the art is fired into the glass - not a paper label) - pretty classy......  They have a call to arms on the label too - Grow Your Own! - something about only using ingredients grown at the winery - kinda like an Estate wine perhaps?

Cheers!
