Putting together the Grosse Pointe Blank show this afternoon, as I'll be heading down to Amoeba Records in San Francisco to do some crate digging tomorrow. Unscrewed a 2012 Layer Cake Malbec from the Mendoza region and it is tasting mighty fine. Tried the 2009 version back in August of 2011 and it was a winner ----- > 2009 Layer Cake Malbec. The 2012 vintage has a very nice smokiness, as the varietal should and some a nice fruit forward initial impact with a smooth and lingering finish. Highly recommended and should go great with the Tri-Tip that I'll be grilling up this afternoon.
Cheers!
