2011 Ruggero di Tasso Nero d' Avola

It is a Red Wine Sunday at the Pinhead Studios - uncorked a Nero d'Avola from Ruggero di Tasso to go with a little Spaghetti Bolognese that is simmering on the stovetop.  This wine is made from the jet black Nero d' Avola grapes that are vinified on the southern tip of Sicily.  Similar to Shiraz, this one is dark and bold with dark red fruit and some nice spice notes.  Yes - a very nice Italian Red that goes for less than a fiver down at your local Trader Joes.  Here's a couple reviews -

Wine Down Willy   ----->  goes down softly

The Savvy Lush ----->  sweet baking spices and chocolate

Cheers!
