2012 Bogle The Phantom

Happy Sunday - my favorite day of the week.  A glass of wine, some music playing on the Jukebox, a game of Pinball - life is good.  Opened this one up to breathe and had to take a sip.  It's a 2012 Bogle Phantom Red Blend.  A bit of a splurge, but I'm celebrating 6 years of the show this week, so why not!

This wine is a blend of 46% Petite Syrah, 40% Zinfandel, 11% Cabernet Sauvingnon and 3% Mouvedre.  A deep purple in the glass with a dark red rim, it is a visual delight.  On the nose, a bit of Dark Chocolate, Leather and Black Black Fruit.  On the tongue, the flavors intensify with more fruit and a nice astringency, some acidity on the smooth finish with a Blackberry Bomb left in the throat.  Wow!  This is gonna go well with the Rib Eyes on the grill and equally well with the Dandelion Chocolate for dessert.  If you have never had Choclate from this shop down in the Mission in San Francisco, you need to right now - they take orders online.  My favorite is the Kikoa Kamila bar made from beans grown in Tanzania.  Just Beans and Sugar - that is all!

Bogle Phantom ------ >  Brawny juniper

Dandelion Chocolates ----->  Ripe Mango and Soft Tropical fruits

Cheers,
Jerry
