Rene Barbier Mediterranean Red

A Rainy Day out here in California.  Don't worry about me, I've got a Spanish red to keep me warm. This wine comes from the Catalunya region of Spain and is a blend of Merlot and Tempranillo.  Dark Dark red, the wine smells of plums and raspberries and on the tongue a bit of spice is added as well as some green olive and anise.  A solid, drinkable red that is well balanced.  A bargain down at my local Trader Joes for a fiver.  This should go well with the Braised Short Ribs that are bubbling in the oven.  Threw a bit of the wine in the pot to make the flavors blend nicely.

Cheers,
Jerry
