Unibroue La Fin Du Monde Triple

A gloriously bright crisp Sunday out here on the Left Coast.  Cracked open a La Fin Du Monde from the brewers up in Montreal known as Unibroue.  This one is about 9% abv, malt forward with a very small amount of hops.  Sweet short finish beckons you to take that next sip.  The Banana, Spice and yeasty notes overpower the alcohol to make it dang easy to drink.  This one lives up to the ratings on all the beer sites - highly recommended.

Beeradvocate ----->  100 points sez the Bros!

Yes - I know I poured it into a wine glass - so Sue Me, at 9% it is a wine.....

Post News

Received a nice package in the Post this last week - all the way from Sweden -the latest release from the South Harbour Ringers called Fat Acorn Sessions.  Thanks Matta!

2008 Monte Ducay Carinena

Uncorked a fine Spanish Red this afternoon in preparation for the Robot Attack that will be happening later to my ears as I record the latest show.  This one is a 2008 Monte Ducay Carinena, a nice blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha and Cabernet Sauvignon from the North East of Spain.  Just 6 smackers down at my local Trader Joes, I'll be going back for more of this one.  Hey - it even comes with it's own brown paper bag - perfect for your visits to skid row.....

Wiki's discussion of the Cariena region (DO) ------>  Cariñena

Propoganda from the Winery ------>  "Beautiful morello cherry colour, with brick red sparkles"

I'm not sure what brick red sparkles has to do with the wine, unless you drink a bit too much.....

Cheers!

Sierra Nevada Narwhal Imperial Stout

Cracked open a Sierra Nevada Narwhal Imperial Stout on this cold but clear Winter Evening.  Wow - look as the color of that sucker - Jet Black!  The taste is over the top Malt - and I kinda like it.  The website (listed below) tells us that you can age this for a few years - ha - not this one.  The taste is wonderful and so, I probably should go back a get a few more to cellar.  Highly recommended if you like stouts ----------- come to the Dark Side Luke......
