Boeger Hangtown Red #39

I've uncorked a local red on this Red Wine Sunday. It's a non-vintage wine called Hangtown Red #39 from the kind folks at Boeger Winery located in "Hangtown" - Placerville, Ca. Yes, Hangtown is the nickname of Placerville and it got the name because it was El Dorado County's seat and numerous hanging took place in the Gold Rush era.

The wine is a blend of 8 diffferent varietals, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Dyrah, Petite Sirah, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Mourvedre and Petite Verdot. Found a nice article about the wine right here ----> Wine Of The Week

This blend has quickly become a favorite of mine, as it is easy drinking and goes well with a variety of foods. Picked it up at Trader Joes for around $7. Grilling up some Filet tonight and I'm following the recipe that you can find over at the Boeger wine site here ----- > Filet Mignon

Spent yesterday down in San Francisco at Amoeba Records and Green Apple Books. Made our way out to the end of Golden Gate Park and Ocean Beach in the late afternoon. Clear and sunny but cold and breezy as well. Nice to hear the surf!
